Rise to the Mansions of Glory 338

Tune: Wilson Marion Cooper, 1902
Lyrics: Rev. Seymour Boughton Sawyer, 1859
Meter: 9s,8s (9,8,9,8)
How bright is the day when the Christian
Receives the sweet message to come,
To rise to the mansions of glory,
And be there forever at home.

The angels stand ready and waiting,
The moment the spirit is gone
To carry it upward to heaven,
And welcome it safely at home.
Words were composed by Rev. Seymour Boughton Sawyer on the day of his death. He was born December 8, 1808, in North Carolina and died September 23, 1844, in Alabama. Music was inspired by Sawyer's Exit (Denson Book, pg 338)
