The Cleansing Fountain 382

Tune: W. C. Givens, 1907
Lyrics: Leonidas Robinson, 1896
Meter: Common Meter (8,6,8,6)
There is a fountain flowing free
With bright and crimson sheen,
‘Twas open in King David’s time
To save and cleanse from sin.

Chorus:

This fountain, open wide,
Still flows for all mankind,
And whosoever shall enter in,
Shall be saved and cleansed from sin.

On Calv’ry’s brow the Saviour bled,
For you His life He gave,
He bore the sins of all the world
And from all sin doth save.

(Chorus)

Come, sinner, come, your sins confess,
And let this fountain roll,
With cleansing pow’r the crimson tide,
Will wash and make you whole.
