Singing As I Go 560

Tune: Thomas Jefferson Allen, 1927
Lyrics: Bright Jewels, 1869
Meter: Common Meter (8,6,8,6)
My life flows on in endless song
Above earth's cares and woes,
I catch the sweet tho' far-off hymn,
That points to heav'n above.

Chorus:

Singing, I journey on my way,
Toward the shining shore;
There I shall see His loving face,
And praise Him evermore.

Through all the tumult and the strife
I hear sweet music ring,
It finds an echo in my heart,
I'll trust and hope and sing.

(Chorus)

I lift my eyes, the clouds grow thin,
I see the blue above,
And day by day this pathway smooths,
Since I first learned of love.

(Chorus)
Inscribed January 27, 1927, to the composer's friend, W. M. Faust, Ozark, Alabama.
