1
Brethren, we have met to worship,
And adore the Lord our God,
Will you pray with all your power,
While we try to preach the word.
All is vain unless the Spirit
Of the holy one comes down,
Brethren pray and holy manna
Will be show'rd all around.

Holy Manna 59, Stanza 1

Holy Manna 59b, Stanza 1
2
Brethren see poor sinners round you
Slumb'ring on the brink of woe,
Death is coming, hell is moving,
Can you bear to let them go.
See our Fathers, and our mothers,
And our children sinking down;
Brethren pray and holy manna
Will be show'rd all around.

Holy Manna 59, Stanza 2

3
Brethren here are poor backsliders,
Who were once near heaven's door,
But they have betray'd their Saviour,
And are worse than e'er before;
Yet the saviour offers pardon,
If they will lament their wound.
Brethren pray and holy manna
Will be show'rd all around.

4
Sisters will you join and help like
Moses sisters helped him,
While you see the trembling sinner,
Who are struggling hard with sin;
Tell them all about the Saviour,
Tell him that he will be found;
Pray on sisters and the manna
Will be show'rd all around.

Holy Manna 59, Stanza 3

5
Is there here a trembling jailer,
Seeking grace and fill'd with fears
Is there here a weeping Mary,
Pouring forth a flood of tears?
Brethren, join your cries to help them
Sisters, let your prayers abound;
Pray, O! pray, that holy manna
May be scatter'd all around.

Holy Manna 59, Stanza 4

6
Let us love our God supremely,
Let us love each other too,
Let us love and pray for sinners,
Till our God makes all things new;
Then he'll call us home to heaven,
At his table we'll sit down,
Christ will gird himself and serve us
With sweet manna all around.
