The Living Stone 498

Tune: Daniel Read, 1782; Arranged by W. C. Givens, 1909
Lyrics: Isaac Watts, 1719
Meter: Short Meter (6,6,8,6)
See what a living stone
The builders did refuse,
Yet God hath built His church thereon,
In spite of envious Jews.

This is the glorious day,
That our Redeemer made;
Let us rejoice and sing and pray,
Let all the church be glad.
This is an arrangement of Read's Stafford which was removed from the book in 1907.
The Gospel Feast is now on page 585.
